For my choice blog this week I am choosing to write a
preview of the NBA. Now I know that the season has already begun, but most
teams still have 70 plus games to play, so I will discuss my predictions.
First, the Knicks have only improved, which I talked about in a previous blog,
and after recording his worst field goal percentage last year, I believe that
Carmelo Anthony will lead the league in points per game, seeing that many
people believe that he is the best player in the league without a ring that is
up in age as he is. So my eastern conference goes like this in terms of
playoffs: New York takes the 1 seed, Miami with the 2, Chicago 3, Indiana 4,
Brooklyn 5, Philadelphia 6, Boston 7 and Milwaukee just barely edging out
Cleveland for the final spot. Knicks advance, they play the Nets who upset the
Pacers. Miami plays Chicago, who they are upset by, due to what I believe could
be over confidence. And now that LeBron has a ring, the want isn’t as strong. Then the Knicks beat the Nets and the Bulls to
advance to the finals.
The western conference is dominated by the Thunder, who will
record the league’s best record. The two seed goes to the Lakers, the three to
the Spurs, 4th to the Clippers, 5th to the Nuggets, 6th
the Grizzly’s, 7th the Rockets and 8th the T-Wolves. Oklahoma, Lakers advance as do the Grizz who
upset the Spurs, and the Nuggets who upset the Clippers. Oklahoma beats
Memphis, and Denver upsets LA. The Cinderella story ends as Oklahoma wins the
conference finals. They go on to beat the Knicks in 6 games.
Kevin Durant wins a title and MVP, both a first, and certainly
not the last for him. Defensive player also goes to a OKC player, Serge Ibaka. Most improved to Ty Lawson, coach to George Karl
and rookie of the year to Anthony Davis. All the awards go to the western
conference, but let’s say both conferences give out awards. East MVP goes to
Carmelo Anthony, defensive player to LeBron, most improved to Roy Hibbert,
rookie to Dion Waiters and coach to Mike Woodson. There you have it.
