The best lunch to eat in school, regardless of what food it
is, has got to be left over from the night before. Whether its pizza, homemade
soup or shrimp from Red Lobster the night before, left overs are a must have.
There’s nothing better than having a wonderful meal on a Sunday night, and then
remembering at lunch time on Monday that you had packed the left overs. It
really brightens those gloomy Mondays. There’s one must-have in the cafeteria for
left over success, and that’s the microwave. The microwave is a necessity, especially
during the winter months here in Western New York when a hot lunch can make
your day complete. My all-time favorite
lunch actually came this year, in early September. On a Thursday night, my
family went out for a Japanese Hibachi style dinner at the Tao restaurant,
located at 3200 Orchard Park Road, in Orchard Park, New York. For dinner that
night, I chose the steak and chicken combination meal. For those who are unfamiliar
with the style of Hibachi, it means that you eat at a table that surrounds a grill,
where your meal is cooked in front of you. For starters, they give you a
Japanese soup, with tiny noodles and mushrooms and who knows what other kinds
of Japanese products are in there. The
soup was very hot, and therefore I saved it till the end. Well, to make a long
story short, I ate all the food, and then at the end had no room left for the
soup. I then thought about how good that soup would taste at lunch time the
next day, so I saved it in a Styrofoam container for the next day at school. So, the next day, I ate the delicious soup
after warming it in the microwave and it just made my day and put me in a good
mood to start the weekend!
