Today, I had the pleasure of conducting an interview with my
new friend Rachel. Upon speaking, I learned that her full name is actually
Rachel Renee Helms. I also learned that her favorite sport is softball. Her
favorite movie is Dear John, and to no surprise her favorite actor is Channing
Tatum. I also learned that Ms. Helms was born on June 6, her favorite color is
green, and her BFF (best friend forever) is Rachel Kibler. As you can see, they
have some things in common; not only the name, but they both enjoy the color
green. Also, they both like the winter season, and say that it is their
favorite. Rachel has 3 brothers. Robby is the oldest, then Ryan (who was once
my AJF football coach) and her younger brother is named Jordan. When I asked
Rachel about Abby Kryzack, who rudely interrupted my interview, Rachel said
that she likes Abby. From this I learned that Rachel is a kind individual.
Today, Rachel experienced her first Holiday Havoc, during advisement, and she
said that she enjoyed it. For some strange reason, her favorite animal is a
monkey. Her favorite clothing article happens to be sweat pants. If she could
live in either the country or city, she would choose the country. She likes
Pepsi over Coke. I then gave her a scenario; I said she could either sit in a
white room and do nothing from 5am to 8pm Monday- Friday, and receive 1 million
dollars a month or do her dream job for minimum wage, she chooses the dream
job. Her favorite food is chicken of all kinds, she chooses Canada over Mexico,
and she would like to drive a Lamborghini. She’d rather live underwater than on
the moon, if she had one wish, it would be for millions of dollars, and she
prefers Nike over Adidas and Under Amor.

H2
What would I do to change the world for better? Wow. That’s
potentially a very deep question, full of possible options. Now of course, helping out the needy is the
place where most people look to start. But let’s be honest for a minute. Yes,
it’s wonderful to volunteer for things like soup kitchens and such, but is
doing that really going to change the world? There’s only so much time to volunteer,
and there’s only so many people that one person can help. So I’ve come to the conclusion that in order
to really change the world for the better, having money is the place to start. Whether
it be making hefty donations, or building establishments to help people, a lot
of money is needed. I think that if I was really going to change the world for
a better place I would have to become the president of the United States first.
So after that, I honestly think that the best plan to help the nation would be
to bring back the idea of trickle-down economics, the idea that was originally
founded by Ronald Reagan. The system works in an interesting way. The facts are
as the following: the top 1 percent wealthiest people in the United States
control 99 percent of the nation’s wealth. So that’s quite a bit. So the system
works like this: the wealthiest people, who continue bringing in the largest
pay checks will take a reduction that will then “trickle down” to the classes
below, and so on. It probably wouldn’t be spot on with Ronny Reagan’s idea, but
it’s similar so he needs some credit. And I see the United States as being a
role model for the rest of the world, so maybe other countries would catch on
and do the same. It might be a little bit farfetched, but hey, anything’s possible.

H1 Choice- Denver Nuggets
For my choice blog this week, I am going to write about my
favorite NBA team in the Western Conference; the Denver Nuggets. Two years ago,
the Nuggets traded away the best small forward in the league, Carmelo Anthony,
as well as Chauncey Billups and later in the season, they traded their star big
man, Nene. Now, without a star caliber player, most people would think that the
Nuggets would end up being a last place team the west. But instead, the Nuggets
have done what few other teams have ever accomplished. The Nuggets have a
roster full of solid players, without extreme egos. The usual starting lineup
for the Nuggets consists of Ty Lawson, who is considered their franchise point
guard. He is a tiny guy, only 5’11, but he uses his quickness, skilled passing,
and excellent 3 point ability to be successful. At the shooting guard position,
the Nuggets have Andre Igoduala. He is a solid offensive and defensive player,
who excels with passing and dunking ability. At the small forward is the Italian
born Danilo Gallinari. He is another good 3 point shooter. The power forward is
young gun Kenneth Faried. Faried is a sophomore this year, and he excels by
throwing down big dunks on fast breaks, and he is also a solid rebounder. The
center spot goes to a freak of an athlete in Javale McGee. He has nowhere to go
but up, and he will grow into that star center that head coach George Karl is
looking for. The sixth men are Andre Miller, an experienced point guard with
great passing abilities, a young guard/forward in Jordan Hamilton, who is a
great offensive player. Next is Evan Fournier, the rookie from France, who is a
solid shooter, and the last major contribute is Wilson Chandler, an all-around
small forward.

G4 Knicks
For my fourth and final choice blog this week, I am going to
talk about the New York Knicks once again, and give an update on their season,
and preview the rest of the season. Who would have thought that without Jeremy
Lin and Amar’e Stoudamire, the New York Knicks would be in first place in the
Eastern Conference? It’s been a wonderful start to the season for the Knicks,
as they hold a 14-4 record, after beating the second place Heat last night. The
craziest part about this is that the Knicks star Carmelo Anthony (who is 3rd
in the league in scoring) was out with a finger injury, and behind 27 points
from point guard Raymond Felton, the Knicks were able to pull off a win with a
10 point margin. This season could be absolutely huge for the Knickerbockers, as
they are a favorite to win the NBA championship. And what a year it could be
for Carmelo Anthony. We all knew that he could score, but he is also averaging
6.7 rebounds as well as 26 points. He is currently ranked 2nd in the
MVP race, behind Kevin Durant. If he could win the MVP, and the Knicks win the
championship, (which would most likely result in Melo receiving the finals MVP
as well) all Anthony critics could be silenced, as many believe that he is
currently the best player without a championship. This season is huge for the
Knicks. If I was in charge, I can’t say that I’d change much. Felton (averaging
15 points per game and leading the league in 3’s) is having a wonderful year.
But I think that Stoudamire’s got to go. Right now he’s hurting the
organization more than he’s helping. I think they should trade him for a decent
player, maybe a David Lee or Timofy Mosgov. That’s just my opinion, go Knicks!
G3 LOG OFF
For my 3rd choice blog this week, I would like to
talk of the importance of signing off of your computer once you are finished
with it. If one does not log off of their computer, then someone could easily mess
with the things that you have worked on. I mean unless of course the person
that now controls your account is a nice person. Now let me tell you, Gage
Morris is one of these nice people. I honestly can say that I owe Gage Morris
probably my life if nothing else. He easily could have destroyed my account in
my act of carelessness, but instead, he left me a simple message which contains
the following message:
Once upon a time
there was a boy named Austin Zelasko. Secretly, he was envious of another boy
in his grade. Austin had pictures and posters of this boy up on his wall. This
boy’s name was Gage Morris, and he was so good at everything including
everything. Austin was especially jealous of Gage’s parkour skills; he was so
good at it. One day Austin worked up the nerve to talk to Gage, because he
idolized him. “uhh… H..Hi Gage” Austin stuttered. “What do you want?” Replied
Gage, caused people like Gage weren’t supposed to be caught hanging with people
like Austin. “I.. I just wanted to tell you how awesome you are, and how you’re
so good at everything, and I wish I were more like you.” Austin managed to
blurt out, he was about to pass out because Gage was acknowledging him. “Yeah
whatever, I already know wall that stuff. I completely get told that every day
by everybody I see.” Suddenly Austin died. The end.
Moral of the story: Always log off your computer when you’re
done using it.

G.2 Dislikes
For one of the 4 choice blogs this
week, I will be writing about a lot of the things that I dislike. It’s quite
simple, and I’m just going to talk about things that I don’t like, under no
specific category. First I do not like during sports games, when I personally
play well, but we lose the game. It’s not fun. I suppose it’s better to win and
personally play bad, but both sides have obvious positives and negatives. Another
thing that I don’t like is Adidas. Not the shoes, not the clothes, but just the
brand in general. I don’t really like anything about it. I don’t even really
like any of the sponsor athletes/ celebrities. For example, Robert Griffin III,
Dwight Howard, Mario Chalmers, Niki Manaj, and others are not on the list of my
favorite famous people. Another dislike of mine is LeBron James. I can’t stand
him. Or anything about him. I don’t like the New York Yankees either. It must
be easy to win a lot when you’ve got the largest salary cap in the league. And
they’re cheaters. They have the shortest outfield in the league, making
homeruns virtually easy for the players. I don’t like The Dallas Cowboys
either, for the record. And I’m not really a fan of Arby’s either. They don’t amuse
me. I also dislike the president. Ron Paul should be the current US president
but for some reason, America is too blind to realize that, and for the next
election, when I am eligible to vote, he will become the next president, no
doubt. I am not a fan of jazz music either. Or poetry. Or earth science, it’s
an awful class. One more thing that I dislike is the Spanish language. I will
never fully agree with the reason in which we have to learn it. This is America
people.
