This
week, I look back to the NBA, as we may be watching history in the making in
the 23 game win streak that the Miami Heat currently have. The game in this
streak with the most hype so far must have been on Monday night against the
Boston Celtics. With Rondo out with a torn ACL, and Garnet out with the flu,
the Heat were thought to win the game with ease. However, Jeff Green and the
rest of the Celtics had another plan in store. Green played the game of his career, scoring
43 points and playing great defense against LeBron. Well at least until crunch
time. LeBron hit a game winning shot, and the steak continued. They are now 10
wins away from the record, and the hype of the games will only increase. Now as
an NBA fanatic, and Heat-Hater, I see a loss coming very soon to Miami. In the
next 4 games, the Heat play against the 4 worst teams in the league. The only possible chance of a loss in these
games are their trip to Cleveland tonight when they face off against the Cavs.
Besides that, the Heat should be fine unless they underestimate a team
extremely. Then on March 27, the Heat travel to Chicago, which is a place where
they’ve struggled in the past. If they don’t lose to the Bulls, I guarantee that
the loss will come on March 31 when they travel to San Antonio, where a team
like the Spurs (1st place in the west) are the perfect streak-ending
team. The Spurs play a team game, and they have 7 or 8 players who would start
on most other teams, causing matchup headaches for Miami. So it’s safe to say
that the streak isn’t going to break many more records.
